John Furmage in 2006

This website is a celebration of the life of John Furmage, my dad, who died on 3rd March 2016 aged 91.

He had enjoyed a good life in the main. With many friends, his love of music, the joys (and tribulations!) of teaching and a passion for organ playing across many decades and in many church settings, mostly at Knapton Methodist Church. He was suffering from Alzheimer’s at the end, which is a tough adversary. The Christian care home he lived in for the last year of his life was a great comfort to us all.

These web pages pull together many loving, engaging and unexpected thoughts and photos from many people from dad’s life. There are some video’s too which I hope will help us all to remember him.

If you have any memories of John please use the contact page on this website to reach me, it is never too late to add any further memories or photos to the website. You can also use comments to add any further details about photos that have already been uploaded, such as the names of people in them! Please do send us your memories of John, just a few lines or an essay….. thankyou.

With love

David
