John and David on one of many strolls they had around the local parks and green spaces of Solihull. This is Bruton Park in 2015. Dad always remarked about the wonderful range of greens and how he wished he painted a little more!

John loved the Parkridge Nature Reserve in Solihull, 5 acres with a beautiful lake, paths and coffee shop, 2015. http://www.warwickshirewildlifetrust.org.uk/reserves/parkridge-brueton-park

John left North Walsham and came to live at ‘Lady K’ in Solihull in February 2015. No one wants to leave their home, but it was a decision he agreed needed to be made as dad’s health had deteriorated and he needed overnight care as well as daytime.

This is John’s view from his bedroom window. The place was built around 1679 and has been used as a support for the elderly for 380 years!

John’s room is the two windows on the first floor below the clock and to the left of that. The Foundation of Lady katherine Leveson has a Christian ethos and charitable status. Its approach has been to make everyone feel like family.

Rather stranegly dad wins the bonnet making competition … he had help to make this one (but not from me!), 2015

Its Purple Fun Day at Lady K, where everyone wears some purple and joins in purple themed games! 2015

There is close cooperation with the Christian primary school on the same site, with the kids and staff (as here!) popping in to lend a hand

Kathie the vicar of the Church of England church, also on site, is a frequent visitor. She always wears purple, so looking the part on Purple fun Day was a breeze! 2015
